Forbes have produced their latest rich list, based on the end of the 2021-22 season:
https://www.forbes.com/lists/soccer-valuations/
We are in 15th, sandwiched between the two Milan clubs, and 8th richest in the PL, albeit our $1.08 billion valuation pales in comparison to the next highest PL team on the list, which is Arsenal, at $2.26 billion (10th richest). Our value has increased by 20%.
Another five PL teams are close behind us, and are all in the top 25, including Newcastle - their value increased by 51%, and is obviously only going one way.
Next one after us from the PL is Crystal Palace, supposedly worth $806 million, which I thought was interesting considering their lack of success on the pitch.
Our revenue was $340 million, and operating income was $98 million (defined as 'earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation').
One other thing I found interesting is that there are seven MLS teams in the top 30, with LAFC now supposedly being worth $1.0 billion.
* Forbes exchange rate was calculated as of 22/05/23 with 1 GBP = $1.24, which I think makes us worth £871 million.
Mr Sullivan will be rubbing his hands with glee...
